What does the TAG curriculum include?

The TAG curriculum includes units and activities that involve higher level thinking, problem solving, creativity, decision making, critical thinking, and research.

Classroom Schedule

Enrichment Classes - Grades 1-4 (one grade level each quarter)
Thursdays 10:30-11:15 AM
This year we will be defining and applying thinking skills

Talented and Gifted -- Grades 5-6
Wednesdays 10:45-11:45 AM

Talented and Gifted -- Grades 7-8
Thursdays 1:15-2:15 PM

TEAM -- Together Everyone Achieves More (Resource Room)
This schedule will be completed as classroom teachers determine the needs of their students.

Question: How are TAG students identified?
Answer: Formal screening takes place before entering 5th grade. The following tools are used in the identification process:

a. Teacher Recommendation
b. Cognitive Ability Test (CAT)
c. Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS)
d. Hartman/Renzulli Behavioral Scales
e. Torrance Creativity Test
