St. Paul's Facilities St. Paul Lutheran Church and School have been undergoing changes for the last 140 years. Various additions and modifications have been made as the ministries and needs of both church and school have expanded. Our school was founded in 1862 in order to provide a Christian Education for the members of St. Paul Lutheran Church and the Fort Dodge community. The church building was dedicated in 1886, enlarged in 1930, and renovated in 1974. The school building was dedicated in 1951, enlarged in 1959, and remodeled and dedicated in 1999. Some of the largest changes have taken place since May of 1999 when an arsonist burned down St. Paul Lutheran Church. Due to heroic efforts by our Fire Department, the school was saved and for the next four years our church services were held in the school gymnasium. God had richly blessed our congregation and He has continued to shower His blessings upon us. In August of 2003, we dedicated our new sanctuary, built to the south of the school. While the outer shell of the new building is complete along with the Church Sanctuary, there is much to finish yet on the inside. We have finished the main Narthex (entry hall) along with the Nursery and Cry Room, a Church Library, Coat Rooms, and the Hallways themselves. We are always pleased to give tours to interested persons or groups. Please call our office for more information at (515) 955-7285. We currently hold worship services in the new Sanctuary Saturday evenings at 6:00 PM and Sunday mornings at 8:00 & 10:30 AM with Education Hour for all ages at 9:15 AM. You are always welcome to visit our church and school and worship with us.
